Measure the journey, not vanity
Views alone cannot tell you whether your marketing works. Map the journey: impression, click, store-page visit, wishlist or install, first session, and return. Choose one or two metrics for each stage and review them alongside real player feedback.
Useful questions
- Which source brings people who actually reach the store page?
- Which trailer, screenshot, or description change improves qualified clicks?
- Where do interested players lose confidence—requirements, price, unclear gameplay, or a broken link?
- Which player group returns, recommends, or asks for more?
Compare periods with context: a festival, sale, streamer mention, update, or platform feature can change behavior. Avoid declaring a winner from a tiny sample. Preserve a simple experiment log with date, hypothesis, change, and result.
The best metric is one that changes a decision. Use it to improve the player’s path, then keep the story, store page, game profile, and support materials aligned with what the game genuinely offers.
